Hello 2013

Hello people. How's your 2013 has been? Pardon me for not updating me blog, I was in a coma (ok i am just exaggerating, not a real coma) and decided to just stepped away from blog and such for a while. school papers and assignments were piling up in both my laptop and book like crazy, forcing me to study and work even harder for them. for 2012, the result was great for two quarters while the other recent twos were kinda bumpy. I got C for the first time in a desperately-not-so-important subject however I thank God that I was able to maintain my gpa above 3.00 because grades are still important for me.

Talking about 2013, I nearly forgot to extend "MERRY CHRISTMAS 2012 and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013" to you guys. Let us begin (or should I say, CONTINUE...DUH :D) this 2013 by becoming much more excited and passionate in every single thing we do. =)

I will not talk or explain much in this post, however I will share pictures from my Instagram account that I took from July 2012 to January 2013. Instagram has helped me a lot in extending my passion; both traveling and taking photos. So, here you guys. Enjoy the photos and if you want, follow my Instagram at @ladida89. Till then, God bless! ;)

Columbia University, New York. taken in Summer - July 2012.

I spotted a Jeffrey Campbell Lita in Spikes at Urban Outffiters. taken in Fall - September 2012.

I was in the mood for some sun at the beach ;) essential kits that I brought to beach in Long Island, New York. taken in Summer - July 2012.

Vanilla milkshake, fries, and good old cheeseburger at Shake Shack. taken in Summer - July 2012.

Fall season meaning time to enjoy warm dessert like this Nutella Crepe I got at Crepe Cafe in Bryant Park. taken in Fall - November 2012.

Fall also means a season of weirdness. It is supposed to be a bit colder but weather in NYC is always weird. I could hit the road with a shirt, a sweater, and a capri jeans with flats since it was only 15-16c/60F. taken in Fall - Sept/Oct 2012.

What a blessing being able to witnessed the most awaited concert of 2012. Barbra Streisand Live in Brooklyn. so far it was the most expensive concert I have ever attended and I will always cherish it for the rest of my life. taken in Fall - October 2012.

living in NYC meaning having a chance to experience something that only occurs once in a lifetime. like this exhibition made by Tatsu Nizhi with the Christopher Columbus' statue located at Columbus Circle, West 59th st. taken in Fall - November 2012.

surprisingly this H&M leather flats is pretty comfy! taken in Fall - September 2012.

I was on holiday for a while and this view was taken from my seat inside Emirates Boeing 777-300. taken in Winter - December 2012.

Had this at Sushi Tei Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Tobiko sushi is always a must to bite on for me. LOL. taken in December 2012.

tropical fruits. cheap and yummy. at Petaling Streets market, KL, Malaysia. taken in December 2012.

I paid a visit to this capital of New York state. a small city called Albany with its amazing winter weather and architecture. taken in Winter - January 2013.

PS: all fifteen pictures that I posted here were taken by me with my iPhone camera and were uploaded into my @ladida89 Instagram account. all pictures are copyright of me and if you want to use it for public blog or any content on the web, please contact me first on the comment or re-link the picture onto this blog site. The almost forgotten winter part 5

Hurray!!! :D final post of winter related outfit is here! okay, these pictures were taken during St. Patrick's day. noticed that I did a little bit of experiment with my face and of course the outfit as well! :)

P.S: pardon my non perfect skin condition. I believe I encountered some zits during St. Patrick's day.

I did my own make up so don't expect that it will be as great as magazine model or such.. :D since I have a very sensitive skin (another reason why I rarely put on make up onto my face) so I was just putting on some stuff that I really really need to celebrate St. Pattys :P

eye shadow - Covergirl, blush - Givenchy, mascara - Clinique, nail polish - Spoiled by wet n wild

I did not wear any gloss or lipstick during that day because I was so busy applying those makeup therefore I only put on some natural lip balm from Lancome. the nail polish was a very great bargain consider I got it at local CVS store for just $2ish...:D and also I rarely wear eye liner due to the fact that I already have big eyes.. :P (not that big though but yea...)

dress - Forever 21, head band - H&M, necklace - thrift store, tights - Zara, ring - Forever 21, sneakers - Keds (not shown)

anyway, this is the last post of winter related thingy! can I hear a 'yeayyyy' from all of you??? LOL...

till then, God bless! :)

The almost forgotten winter part 4

Part four - phew... lol, I know you must be so terribly bored already! :D oh well...

hair band - H&M, dress - H&M, necklace - Moselle, ring - H&M, watch - Casio, random bracelets, tights - Zara, flats - Tory Burch

surprised that I wore this during winter? well, like I said earlier, that depends on how cold the weather is outside. winter in NYC is considered 'weird' by some cause it can be super freezing in certain times but it can be springy-like too as well.. if you are a person who think that 59-65F (14-18'C) during winter is pretty awesome then I guess you can dress like what I did in this picture with a touch of light blazer. =)

and, winter related outfit will reach its' final destination on the next post (finally...:D)... next one will be a combination of both outfit and some sort of makeup post..

till then, God bless! :)

The almost forgotten winter part 3

Multi-functional. =)

Yes, that is the theme for this post. See anything similar from the four photos shown below?
Almost all the accessories and outfit that I used were the same; hence the word multi functional came by. I love to mix and match, and I think it is important in the fashion world to do so.

outfit: inner sweater - Zara, dress - Zara, belt - Zara, necklace - thrift store, headband - local drugstore, boots - UGG. random bracelets

2nd outfit: peter pan collar sweater - Zara, dress - Zara, belt - Zara, necklace - thrift store, headband - local drugstore, tights - Zara, boots - UGG, coat (shown below) - H&M, random bracelets

how I dressed during winter season. well that depends on how bad the winter, actually. I have another longer coat that I prepare whenever snow storm or freezing below 28F temp starts to hit :P

and yes, another winter related outfit post is still to come... I hope you guys aren't bored or puke.

till then, God bless!:)

The almost forgotten winter part 2

Hello again and welcome to part two of my winter-related outfit posts.. (yeah yeah, I am such a lazy blogger)

It is almost summer in the northern hemisphere (including NYC of course) but I just could not resist not to post those winter outfits cause I promised myself a week ago. Yeap, promises are meant to be fulfilled, don't they? ;)

And to people who live in the southern hemisphere (Southern Africa countries, Australia, New Zealand, and some part of Southern America countries), have an enjoyable winter! =)
outfit : inner - Zara, outer sweater - H&M, coat - H&M, necklace - Moselle, jeans - GAP, boots - UGG

And this three are just another random shots of how I dressed up inside my apartment...

peter pan collar shirt - Zara, necklace - thrifted, jeans - GAP, flat - Tory Burch

school has been so tiring.. oh well... see you on next post!

till then, God bless! ;)

The almost forgotten winter part 1

I finally decided to use my photobucket.com account to upload these pictures. I know, I know, they are not in their best quality but it is better than nothing, right? and by this post, it marks the return of me in this so-called blogging world after a long long two months hiatus. disappointed? no, not at all, especially after I knew that I could retain my above 3.5 GPA and entered dean's list for God knows so many times...

above picture was taken on January 2012 - around Woodside area in Queens, New York. see those tiny little snows over there? yeap, this year we did not receive large pile of snows 'cause of last year's Nor'easter accident. too bad.

if you guys don't know what I am talking about, here's a hint: 2011 Nor'easter

my simple winter outfit. could not dress up that much since temperature was always an issue in NYC. either you risk yourself dress vigorously but ended up freezing or dress smartly but warm inside.
my outfit = coat - Kenneth Cole, shirt (inside) - Tommy Hilfiger, sweater - Topshop, jeans - GAP 1969, boots - UGG, necklace - Moselle

stay tune for my next post. apologies in advance, still related with winter season outfit and stuff. yeah, I know. I am so freaking lazy...

till then.. God bless!

I need my umbrella to fly

Without having to relate to Mary Poppins herself, I really need my umbrella to fly. For real. At least that describes my situation here. Away from the loved ones back home even also still away from MY LOVE :( the 500 something miles that separates us from being together on this Valentine's Day. Nevertheless, I am still strong here knowing that we will see each other again in just matter of days :)

And to be honest with you, this is like my comfortable outfit whenever my mind stuck or not having any single idea on what to wear. I am a simple eclectic woman who knows how to dress appropriately without losing her adulthood elegant touch. Disagree with me?? ;)

outfit : hat - H&M, red top - Stradivarius, necklace - Moselle, skirt - Zara, blazer - Zara, tights - Zara, sneakers - Keds, rings - H&M, bag - Steve Madden

say the magic word: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious =)

And Ta-Da! there's my umbrella that's gonna make me fly :P

And that's the end of my hometown-related outfit posts! see you guys later in another version of the posts!
God bless you :)

Over sized

Why Over sized? LOL... I named the title "over sized" because it reflects how the clothes were when I wore them during my last vacation in my hometown. I lost a lot of weight when I was in NYC and when I came back home to Jakarta, dum dum dum, all my clothes are loosen up so much that I had to wear a belt every time I went somewhere. funny right?! however, it was a good thing consider walking is my exercise here in NYC where in Jakarta, that is something expensive you can not do freely. Even if I do that, I might as well have to carry pepper spray because crime rate in Jakarta is so high. Plus, you can not rely on public transportation. Like Los Angeles, private vehicle is the only way to go around. Especially if you are an upper class person :)

see that brown colored trouser I got from Bershka?! LOL is all I could type now :D

pardon for my lousy face in those pictures. I was not feeling very well. Not because of the jet lag but because of the weather. It was god-damn HOT. (:P)

stay tune for next post, fellas! God bless! :)

outfit snaps from hometown

Till then..God bless! :)

Surprise Surprise =)

Probably it is true with the proverb some said. What was meant to be for us it will happen to us or we will get what we wish for no matter how long the time we have to wait. And to end the conclusion...

Surprise Surprise... after God-knows sooo many months or probably years of saving, deep discussion with other experts, and much consideration; I bought my very first D-SLR camera...=)

the best Christmas purchase ever... Canon EOS Rebel T2i or 550 D with Lens Kit

I had been snapping some test pictures with it and the results were amazing. I even lowered the mega-pixel to 8 Mega-pixel and still it did not disappoint. ;) as a photography enthusiast, I definitely will save money for other variant of lenses.

speaking of gifts, I got a $20 voucher from Shoe Buy which I used to purchase this beautiful Keds shoes! Thank you Shoe Buy and Keds! best Christmas miracle indeed =)

And ooh I also got free 20 pages of Photo Book from Shutterfly! because of my contribution on Trip Advisor site! Thank God :)

Tomorrow night, I will go for a 2 weeks holiday in Jakarta. Can't believe I am going back home again. Flight departs at 8 PM ET sharp. so...

Merry Christmas 2011 and Happy New Year 2012 in advance! =) GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

It's the most wonderful time of the year... dum dum dum...

Christmas is just 8 more days and New Yorkers are excited already with exchanging gifts, the joyful Christmas tunes they listen and hum around town.. ah what a splendid holiday season ever... yet we must not forget that Christmas is the moment to rejoice Jesus' birth not just gifts and mistletoe and holly and decorations. I always thank God each minute each second every time I go anywhere even to the grocery store nearby my apartment for the blessings I received since the day I was born. HE never puts me down =)

Anyway...talking about outfit... I wore triple layers for Christmas celebration last December 3rd 2011 held at a church somewhere in New York. Those colors may seem 'dull' but I just loved to wore stuff that was truly outside my box.. haha talk about business' vocabulary..:P

outfit : hat - H&M, black turtleneck - Worthington, loose outerwear - H&M, badge - church donation, necklace - Moselle, skirt - Topshop, black faux fur legging - JC Penney, gray tights - Zara, flat - Tory Burch

PS: not really that fun when the weather hit somewhere 30-36 F at night.. lol

God bless -)

The belated Thanksgiving post

Ok I know it is so lame that Thanksgiving was already over but pardon my laziness due to the fact assignments and projects were like A-hole; not to mention I must maintain 3.00 GPA because I am dying to enter Ivy Leagues School for Postgraduate/Doctorate degree someday.

Alright, enuff of talking nonsense. I suppose pictures speak a lot, right? Thanksgiving 2011 celebrated around 34th St, Church, Black Friday, Long Island...and the story goes...

psst... I think my pink coat has had too much exposure, don't cha ? :)
in front of St.Paul's Episcopal Church, Woodside, NY

for the first time ever, I finally wore my heels after five months of hibernation. :P

shopping at Tanger, Riverhead, NY - 1,5 hours drive from NYC

Tanger has 2 outlets - and they are BIG! LOL

my simple Black Friday dinner. don't have much option during that day as the restaurants were packed with hungry people so, simple dinner from Deli then :)
from JC. Penney

H&M deals! $5, $10, $15...total = $30 :)

for those who crave French Patisserie, Canelle might be your best bargain. I liked their Apple Pie and Macarons.

as for this, hmm, 600 cals for dinner?! no problemo..lol but so TASTY!!! YUM! (at Tanger 2 Food court)

Canelle's Chocolate Cake and Macarons. Both of them were delish!

oh yeah, I got this from J. Crew :)

which one do you want? :)

taken during Thanksgiving Day Parade. could not even walk properly or take pictures due to the large number of people. lol

Oh, Canelle Patisserie is located at Jackson Heights, Queens, NY.

So, how is your Thanksgiving, peeps? God bless! :)
